Chris Pine starstruck on Jack Ryan set

Chris Pine admits that he had an out-of-body experience on the first day of filming Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, when it suddenly hit him that he was acting in a  film with veteran actor Kevin Costner. Pine was starstruck, because he grew up watching Costner on the big screen in movies such as Field of Dreams and Bull Durham. He says, “You always have these out-of-body moments on the set where you’re like, ‘My God, I watched these people growing up, I’ve seen tons of their films and now I’ve got to work opposite them. But what kicks in very quickly is the shock and awe goes to, ‘I have to do this job’ and I have to step up to the plate and be at the same level as these guys or they’re going to run me over.” Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit hits theatres this Friday, January 17, 2014.
